I really like how you did her eyes ^^. The leg is interesting. That seems like it would be difficult for normal humans to do in armor. *claps for you*

I forgot to mention... that part -- the negative space for the right foot... that's for a rock where Kay should have placed her foot. n_n'
can't paint a rock yet.

^_^ Oooo...that makes sense.
Oh and I'm thinking of commissioning a work for the fourth Abby story. I was thinking you're probably busy, but if it's possible for next month, I'd be willing to commission as much as I can for it ^^. It won't be too complex. I always love how you depict Abby ^^.

Will do - how about next week. My schedules are fine and it allows me to do art.

I like how clear it is that she sees something, and she wants whatever it is that she sees. Very aggressive. Excellent artwork.

Oh wow, the colors add so much to the atmosphere!
For whatever reason I tend to like sketches and lineart more than colored pieces but this is easily an exception to my tastes. Good stuff!

The colors in manga? Now that you mention it, they do tend to retain that rough, sketchy quality more often than not. There's something almost intimate about a sketch or a bit of lineart. Like you are getting to see a glimpse of what went into making the picture. It's a feeling that's hard to beat.

Manga only got tones. It means gray. The thing about gray is that it blends well with black and any other color. It desaturates while giving a natural depth. Real colors have that too but color accuracy is shorter unlike the control gray has over simple line art.

yup. but screen tones aren't sold in our country so you won't notice me use it.

That's a shame, although is there anything keeping someone from using digital tones?

Yeah, we were forced to work with something similar back when I worked on a school newspaper due to the limited quality of our printing presses. It was very unintuitive and I never really got the hang of it.

Whoa, pretty colors! I love her expression, it reminds me of Kay's reaction to someone I met who actually wanted to be conquered by her.

It's the third revision. That view and those eyes are difficult to handle. Moreover, I'm really concerned about the angle I chose here. It's too flat. Now I can't think of a possible BG for her.

When I'm in this situation as a writer, I respond by trying to turn a disadvantage into an advantage. I had to do something like this for Flavor of Chocolat.
How about this as an idea: shes's on an overlook, scoping out a potential battlefield. Her "flatness" would be well justified then because a good commander needs to have a stoic, unshakable aura.

Makes me think of Jeanne d'Arc, although I'd be hard pressed to explain why. Perhaps it is the ponytail which reminds me of Ramza Boulve (of Final Fantasy Tactics which borrows heavily from the 100 years war). Kay strikes me as a woman on a mission, even if it isn't A Mission From God. And now I can't stop associating the picture with the Blues Brothers.

Oh, she doesn't look like Jeanne d'Arc. Or maybe she does, but we have no way of knowing because I am pretty sure that no actual portraits of the woman survived. x_x
I meant more that the pose and design make me think of a character like Jeanne which, from what I've heard of Kay, is quite appropriate.
