Description I wanted to do something similar to my "radioactive flowers" [link]

Hm..., I think the color combination in radioactive flowers was better...

The radioactive flowers are pretty, but I really like this one more. Your use of salt in your watercolors is done really well.

Thank you .

About the salt: First, you have to paint with watercolors on watercolor-paper. You have to use a lot of water. Then you take the salt and put it on the (wet!) paint. I always paint small areas and then put salt on it because the watercolors dry very fast. You can see the effect on the flower or leaves - it gives a "snowflake" effect .

anita, late reply. Have you ever used salts with acrylic paints?

but these colors are so bright! i bet that bothers you! i really like the green magenta and blue. those are colors that always felt good together for me. i really like the way you do your borders. the two pieces (this and radio active flowers) and would look so great hung together! you know how i love variations on a theme!

The background is what bothers me the most. But I do like the bright colors on the leaves and flower . Thanks so much for your nice words.

hmmmm....i guess everyone sees imperfection in their own work that others don't see. the leaves are my favorite. very nice.

my pleasure!

Interesting choice of colours, using these colours and mixing them together would be in my case really hard. You created something very nice for the eye, good work. Regarding your link to the other piece perhaps what made it more radioactive was the white bubbly things around that created a sort of brighter highlight but this piece is alright just different the both look good!

I was "fighting" with the background - I had so many troubles with it. I'm really into learning new color combinations, every picture is a learning process .

I`m actually having the same confrontations these days many of the paintings I'm doing don`t pass the test and I have to paint some white over it. Sometimes it gets me crazy haha but like you say it is the learning process, you are doing well though!

Although the color combinations may have been better there, I think the technique was used to a much better degree here

Yes, you've got a point there. Now the next painting must have the combination of good technique and good color combination .

Thanks for the favs
