Portrait I made in my early day's. I did a series of portraits, of characteristic individuals in the village I grew up. In that time there was no way to preserve your work. So I asked the local architect to make a copy on the machine they used to copy technical drawings. It was a primitive system to copy B&W material. My pencil drawings were in B&W so we tried to see if it would work. One copy was better than the other but it was better than nothing. This one came out very well but the machine overshot the white background. Result was a random gray noise like you get in a over exposed photograph. I liked it the moment it came out of the machine and I kept it with the other copies. These lightpresses, as they called them, have to be stored completely in the dark. If not they slowly go all white in time. Now they are digitized the pressure is of but i still keep them in the bottom drawer of my paper cabinet.
