these are lab mice in my school.. they're just SO SO adorable.. i didn't have the heart to dissect them
, but we had to for studies.. so i've done this as a tribute for the poor lab mice around the world who have to sacriface their lives for annoying people like me to get toyed around with and dissected up for..don't SUE me for dissecting those little furry cute things.
trust me, if i were cruel enough, i'd have started taking very rude pictures of the mice, like make them pose in some obscene way before dissection (after they're dead)..
BUT I DIDN'T.
and i'm a life sciences student.
it's in the curriculum to do this portion of the module.
let me tell you, you DONT wanna watch the video where my senior de-yolks a zebrafish.
it's cruel and i didn't have any appetite for fishes for 6 months after that.
come to think of it, it's been a year already and i still don't have the appetite for fish.
anyway, these cute lab mice..
it's sad to see them go.. really, it is...
btw, really sorry for the blur and disgusting quality of the pictures..
these were taken from my camera on the phone..
it's a nokia 7260... with scratches and :blah:... hahas...

haha.. well, if you're not branching into the parts where they use animals as models, then you won't have to kill too many cute, furry things..
but i'm studying more of viruses and bacteria and the sort, so it's pretty much dull but interesting in a weird confusing way.. haha..

horrible shit. bahhh. i want life sciences >.< it's so damn horrible! argh. it's not that cute furry factor, but it's still a damn life. watching them getting gassed.. no.. sigh. and i thought that being a medical student was going to be fun *rolls eyes*

but hmm.. how to say... studying life sciences don't make you a med student...
you have to study medicine in order to say that you're a med student.. haha...
i'm not sure about other schools, but my school (nyp) only uses mice for school experiments..
yeah..
being a student in the medical field, and more so in the life sciences means to dissect alot more things than you'd really like to have.
like for med students, you have to study and dissect dead bodies for your first and second years..
so, it's really up to you now to decide on the matter whether you really want to do all the dissections..
but really, dissections aren't that bad..
it's quite fun really..

I know you're not a mean-spirited type of person, though. If you were, you wouldn't have put this picture up for the mice all around the world. And froggies, and piggies, and rats, and earthworms.

we have to watch them get gassed and then we have to like well.. i don't wanna describe it.. hahas
it gets really gross when you have to tear of the fur and all....
so i'll just leave it just there...!

but my classmates took pictures of the mice while they were cutting it up..
they were using those pictures for their reports.. and it's SO gross...
they CANNOT be surgeons next time, lol..

wow, that's sad. I had to skin the fur off of a rat once, but a LOT of people couldn't finish the assignment, because they were nauseated by it. Even this too-cool-rebel-punk-guy type was grossed out by it!
Yeah. I prefer to take pictures of things that are alive still... or at the very least, were dead before I found them. *cringes*
What's really awesome (in a gross kind of way), though, is that I once dissected an already-dead frog, and it had a HUGE stomach, so I decided to cut it open, then realized that we were supposed to do that anyways, and it had specific instructions that I followed, so yeah. It had a cockroach inside of it! Good little froggy killing off he roach population.
But yeah, we were supposed to cut open the head... and that freaked me out so badly! I almost threw up. Couldn't do it.

hahahs... it was pretty okay for me..
coz actually, i was looking forward to dissection class...
they make us start up small... with young rats..
but we complained after class.. saying they were TOO small..
it's just trying to cut up this TINY minute thing... but well, gross as it is.. my class and i weren't nauseated at all..
we just went "ewww.... grossss!!!" then went on dissecting.. lol!
