Percy:

From the look in Reyna's eyes Percy got the impression that he was still supposed to be embarrassed. The only problem was, he wasn't. At first he had blushed under the hard stare of the Romans but now all he could think about was the warmth of Annabeth's lips...
"I thought you said I'd like Reyna" said a sceptical voice, awaking him from his thoughts.
He shrugged.
"She's not usually like that" he explained to Annabeth, "she's just under a lot of pressure".
His girlfriend didn't look convinced.
"Aren't we all" she muttered.
Percy bit back his reply. He didn't want to start an argument, especially not one over Reyna. Soon he became aware of new crowd of people joining them. In it was most of the fifth cohort and the three other half bloods who had arrived with Annabeth. Jason, the tall boy who had taken his place at Camp Half blood, started to walk alongside him.
"So what's the plan, Annabeth" he asked.
Annabeth opened her mouth to reply but a curly haired boy from behind got there first.
"Please don't tell me it involves more kissing, I don't think my stomach could take it". Percy waited for embarrassment to consume him again but it didn't come. Instead a ridiculous hope entered his heart. There would be more of that? He suddenly found himself eagerly wishing him and Annabeth were alone....
"I apologise for the idiot repair boy" groaned Piper from Annabeth's left and just like that Percy was once again dragged from his fantasies.
Frank made a choking noise that sounded like he was trying not to laugh. Percy was surprised. What did Frank have against Leo?
"Well the plan is we split into two teams. One team, team Percy takes out the water cannon. The other team, team Leo, take out the Scorpions" she began, then paused waiting for everyone to nod.
They all did apart from Leo who was shaking his head.
"what Leo?" Annabeth demanded sounding annoyed.
"Don't get me wrong, team Leo is a pretty cool name, but can't we be called the avengers or the-"
Piper placed her hand over Leo's mouth.
"You were saying" Piper prompted.
Annabeth shot her a grateful glance.
"So on team Percy is Percy, Hazel, Frank, myself and half the fifth and on team Leo-" Leo removed Piper's hand.
"Team Avengers!" he insisted.
Annabeth sighed.
"Fine, on team Avengers is Piper, Jason, Leo and the rest of you. Any questions?"

Jason:

Jason thought Annabeth's plan was amazing. The teams she had chosen meant that everyone was working with somebody they trusted and knew well. She was a genius, there was no denying it.
"Any questions?" Annabeth called and Jason immediately shook his head.
It made perfect sense to him that Leo was dealing with fire and Percy was influencing water. It was their birthright, like his lightning. Frank's hand was in the air though.
"Yes Frank?" Annabeth asked.
Frank glanced at Leo.
"Umm how can Leo take care of the Scorpion tanks, he'd get singed before he could get near enough to disable them" Frank pointed out.
Leo grinned and Jason groaned silently. Here we go, he thought to himself.
"This is how!" exclaimed Leo and his hands burst into flames.
A shocked gasp escaped the lips of most of the soldiers around him. Hazel screamed and clasped her hand over her mouth. Leo pumped his fists up in the air, just to show off. Out of the corner of his eye he saw Piper roll her beautiful eyes. She at least wasn't impressed.
"Thank you Leo" Annabeth said dryly and Leo reluctantly let the flames die.
Suddenly a possible fault occurred to Jason too.
"But Annabeth" he said "Leo can get close enough to the Scorpions, but the rest of the team can't".
Annabeth just smiled.
"Hazel can answer that problem" she replied.
Jason was surprised. He turned to the thirteen year old.
"You can?" He asked.
She nodded, grinning.
"Yes. Being a daughter of Pluto, tunnels just sort of appear for me when I'm underground. I'll lead us through one so we can get as close as we can, undetected" she explained.
Ok, now Jason was impressed.
"That's cooler than flames" laughed Piper.
Hazel blushed.
"That's a matter of opinion" she replied.
Leo grinned and was it Jason's imagination or did LEO actually go a bit red too?.
"Are you a daughter of Minerva?" a reasonably sober Dakota asked Annabeth.
She nodded proudly.
"And are you a senator?" she quizzed Dakota.
He nodded.
"How could you tell?"
Annabeth smiled.
"You're wearing a toga" she explained.
Dakota blinked.
"I am?".
Jason laughed. Dakota's attention was always elsewhere when he hadn't had enough Kool Aid, probably because he was too busy thinking about the drink! Jason stared into the distance and saw the armoury ahead.
"Come on" he said, "let's go get ready"

Leo:

Leo was raring to go. He impatiently walked down to the armoury at the same pace of the others, but he really wanted to dash ahead. He assumed the Romans would have some seriously cool weapons and devices in there, and he wanted to see them. Badly. When the group finally did arrive at the armoury Leo was the first one in. For a moment he stood still, overwhelmed. All around him were shelves and tables piled high with swords, knives, bows, spears and even some Leo couldn't name. Banners of fresh green, deep purple and faded russet hung on the walls. The smell of polish was in the air and Leo knew the weapons had recently been cleaned. He ran over to a huge shiny hammer sitting on a shelf. It felt heavy and cool in his hands.
"This place is freaking awesome!" he exclaimed.
A high pitch laugh came from behind and Leo turned to see the nervous girl Hazel Levesque standing there.
"You like precious metals?" Hazel asked.
Leo considered that for a moment. "
Not as much as you seem too" he replied.
The girl Hazel looked almost scared.
"Yeah" she muttered in a nervous tone that confused Leo.
The two stood there, Leo staring into Hazel's golden eyes. There were hundreds of things he wanted to say but he just couldn't find the right words...
"Look Leo, I have to tell you something" Hazel whispered.
Leo was intrigued.
"Go on" he encouraged.
Hazel opened her mouth to speak when the door opened. The rest of the group were suddenly crammed into the room, separating Leo from Hazel. He sighed. Why couldn't he have just a minute with Hazel without interruption? He was sure he would figure out how he knew her. Eventually...
"Leo are you planning to kill someone with that thing" asked Piper.
Leo was confused for a moment before he realised he was swinging the hammer without realising it.
"Well I wasn't originally but now you mention it, it would be so easy to whack you and make it look like an accident...." Leo threatened.
Naturally Piper rolled her eyes.
"Whatever you say hothead" she replied and picked up a slightly rusty helmet.
Leo raised an eyebrow. "Isn't that too grubby for you Beauty Queen?" he commented as she picked up a matching shield.
Her eyes narrowed.
"Actually if it's like that I can't see your reflection, something that never fails to horrify me" she retorted.
Leo laughed.
"Am I not fashionable enough for you, your highness?" he shot back.
Piper's hand flew to her knife.
"That's it Valdez!" she cried.
