This is a very beautiful position for this shot. The red is very natural and clear, the light, is neither overpowering nor weak, it appears to be natural light, and this is the most complimentary type of light for this one, in my opinion.
the depth of field is perfection, while the focus is beyond and draws you into the shot. I like the way each petal is clear and concise, and the shadows play on each one.
This was a great pose for the flower, good thought about setup and the backdrop lends itself very nicely to the overall effect. Great Job!

Thanks for the critique. I don't see a place where it is allowing me to approve it, but I definitely do. Not sure if dA is having a bug or if I'm just missing something.
I actually took this shot from underneath the flower. The light was afternoon light coming in from a window.

I'm not sure. I think this was a carnation of some sort? Or a daisy? It came from a generic supermarket bouquet.
