Beautiful and ethereal. Reminds me of the lovely Fiona Apple for some reason.

Kind of an odd picture for me. Itβs very dreamy, but a little sensual as well, though in a very innocent kind of way which is very nice. βCrawlingsβ the title works very well, and evokes a lot of different thoughts and feelings. A cool shiver from the touch, like a breath on the skin, a warm summer breeze in the tree filtered light. The eyes are closed and it calls to mind dreams, the snail seems like a metaphor in this instance now, like vague thoughts climbing up to take on full shape in the mind, slowly but surely. Itβs quite beautiful in that context (Not to say this picture isnβt beautiful just on its own), the dreams are coming to fruition as the reach the mind. Iβm losing my train of thoughts a little hereβ¦ To me itβs like a great last sigh before falling into sleep, the snail represents dreams as the slowly come to life when they reach the mind. Like a little shiver... Beautiful piece.

the snail was a metaphor all the way. your deciphering never ceases to be right. i'm not one to use props unless they underlines things in a specific picture. to be subtle, yet strong. i do have a problem with a gas mask, though ... i'm trying to find a way to diminish its effect, building a concept to let it send a message but not let it overwhelm the feeling it sends overall. anyway, losing my train of thoughts as well. always interesting to get feedback from you

Ahh, I'm glad I caught that. I believe you, there is that sense I feel in your photography, everything is very exact and specific. A gas mask? I'd love to try something like that myself, though the way your are describing the idea intrigues me as it sounds very contrary to the normal artistic use they fall into. Did you want to discus the idea? Maybe I could add a different perspective. Heh, yeah, that will happen with so many words. And thank you, it's my pleasure.

From some people's reactions you would think it was a cone snail (very dangerous) rather than a common land snail.

very creative self portrait. Color and tones are beautiful and the expression is the cherry on top. Bravo well done!
