Description Mmmmm, I had the face drawn like, back in 2003 or something, and I found my then-forgotten-sketchbook while I was packing and I saw her face and I was like...hmmm. She was totally different though, no shading, no nothing. I don't know how I came up with the idea of her having darker skin. I had never drawn anyone with darker skin before, so it was kinda cool (I'll be doing that more often ^___^). Anywhos, So yeah, that's not shadow really, those dark lines are like, prints. lol. okies, so yah! And then I added the sephia effect! choochoo! lol....ahemm.



Edit: mmmm I have the normal version up now (not the sephia colored one). I think it looks better like this ^__^

this is amazing, as always.. you did the hair very nicely, it makes it seem as if it had an ethereal feel to it. The shading is very well done, I like the way you shaded it yet still made it somehow...I don't know. ^_^ Beautiful. The folds are something to envy.. <_< Very very well done. The character design is all so wonderful (I wanna own a dress like that..! o.O) Very good job!! ^_^

dood! she could almost pass for Muscadine, awesome! The thing that stood out the most to me though were the strings of beads. The way they come outward lower on the composition helps balance out all the visual weight of her hair and dark skin, and keep it from being too topheavy. I dunno if that was intentional or just good instincts, but its a nice subtle touch.

I know!!!! You know what?! I actually kinda thought so too as I looked over it after I submitted it! I think subconciously I was going for her awesome and outta this world loook!!! XD but I honestly had no idea I was doing that at the time! lol, you could definetly tell by her skin color and ear and hair (............hair is no way NEAR as cool as her hair though......XD I love Muscadine's haaaaaair!!!!) I'm really really sorry, I really didn't mean to try and copy her, I didn't even realize what I was doing... :S I would never be able to get to your level of greatness anyway.....so please dont hate me.........please!!!! *clings onto his foot*....I beg of you!!!

I love you for commenting on the beads !! I love drawing beads that way!! and you are absolutely right!! it does balance out the drawing with the hair! wow.....again.....I didn't notice what I was doing....hmmm......I'm scaring myself......these days, I'm a little more weird than usual lol.....

ehehe, don't worry about it. besides, i'd consider it a compliment I'm always influenced by other people's work personally, and I never notice till I finish it .___. I should post the first pic I ever did of muscadine sometime(I lost the cg so its just a sketch, but I got her name cause when I CGed it her eyes were the color of muscadines) her hair was curly but nothin like it is now...I just kept getting weirder and weirder with it :0

heheh, ok I found the sketch a couple days ago so I'll put it up soemtime. The resemblence to her is pretty vague though, especially in her hair, it's only a little curly! If you could see each pic I did of her, you'd see that her hair got crazier and crazier every time...I think it leveled out in the "bitter tea" picture in my gallery.

Lovely shading, as always. I do like the way that she was toned in this one--it really looks wonderfully done and realistic. Her dress is perfect, and the way that you did the folds is amazing--and the way that her dress falls on her (with the low back) adds to the picture. I love the beads(beads, right? ^_^; ) that are all over, and the ones that trail down add a nice effect.

Nah, leave it like it is. See, it's the simplicty that I think makes it look perfect. If you make it more complicated, then it might be a little too much for it, and lose that.. quality. >_> I'd give you a better discription, but I can't think of proper words. ^_^;

Dude, if those beads fell... I'd offer my prayers to anyone who had to pick them all up. x_X

lol, I know what you mean with the whole simplicity thing. Actually, come to think of it....sometimes simplicity IS more beautiful, as weird as it might sound....

hahahahahaha!!! .........the uhh..beads-falling-thing....tht's happened to me sooooooooo many times...when I was little though...and I'd just give up and vaccum the lot instead...lol.......so hard!!! XD
