By the way - another problem with KPT in Vista despite the constant hassle of having to reinput the serial is that it does not let you save gradient resets etc (in the likes of Fraxplorer for Example)....
The serial issue only comes into play on certain modules.... I don't think V (The one I use most) requires it....
Nevertheless - This seems like Corel all over. Don't listen to their users, take good programs and destroy them!!!! I only hope that they don't get so stupid with Painter!!!!

I'm actually pretty cross with Corel for having behaved this way with KPT! They did it with WordPerfect back in the old days when that was the main word-processing program being used in organisations here in England; completely changed its functions so that nothing that had been produced in an earlier version was compatible and so forth. Then again, why take just 9 of the original KPT effects, put them together in an incompatible program and make it available for MAC photoshop users, when in fact their market is mainly directed towards their own products, including PSP! Right now I hate them! When they took over PSP they went downhill thereon-in, bringing out Painter as an extra program to do what Jasc PSP was pretty capable of doing in their final production of Creative Suite which included PSP8! Now PSP is mundane!
But... I can't get to grips with Painter (which I have installed on my XP computer), so I'm blowed if I'll buy a later version of that. Neither can I afford Photoshop, nor do I want to have to learn all over again how to use such a program.
I guess I'm getting "past it"!
Oh that's really bad news about not being able to save presets too! But of course that goes with not being able to KPT to retain registration number. You know, I so nearly bought the version they have currently on sale (despite the question as to why should I buy it all over again), however having talked with their staff in the UK office, it turns out there's no way I could have had any further benefit from it.
Sorry for the rant...

Thank you so much. At least one bit of good news is that Flaming pear's latest versions are all Vista compatible, so all I had to do was download the newest versions of the packages I'd bought before, enter the same reg. numbers as before, and hey presto, all working! I love these plug-in filters very much indeed, but the KPT collection by Corel (I never managed to get hold of the original Metacreation sets) is a complete let-down, 'though I can use it with difficulty. I have relied on KPT quite heavily in the past in my MM pictures.
