She's a Mutants and Masterminds character, and in the game setting, her background is that she's an alicorn, first of her kind, and a result of her parents heavy magical experimentation. She kinda ran away from home into space after deciding 'I'm powerful enough that I don't need to take their BS, so I'm just going to go find my own planet and make my own place to do my own thing'. But her parents dont like that and have strong pull with the government, thus it is out to obliterate her by any means necessary while back home she is painted as sort of a boogeyman. It just kind of comes down to 'kill or be killed' with her, but in spite of her usually sociopathic tendencies, the mass killing she does in these situations and the rejection of her species still kind of hits hard deep inside.

She hardcore craves attention and adoration. Used her power to convert a planet of oppressed lizard-like people into ponies and make her *own* civilization that entirely centers on her. Drives her motivation of filling that emptiness inside, as opposed to being a simple matter of self-centeredness.
