Do you believe in Santa ? Do you really know the real story of Santa ?
Well , if you go back History , you will find Santa Claus is not just one person. I will tell you two real stories very similar and i'm sure there must be more. You see ? Santa Claus is not just a red costume and Ho-ho-ho. He is a Magical Love and is so real , Santa lives everywhere in most humble hearts , in every house , in whole world.
St. Nicholas, who was born during the third century in the village of Patara. At the time the area was Greek and is now on the southern coast of Turkey. His wealthy parents, who raised him to be a devout Christian, died in an epidemic while Nicholas was still young. Obeying Jesus' words to "sell what you own and give the money to the poor," Nicholas used his whole inheritance to assist the needy, the sick, and the suffering. He dedicated his life to serving God and was made Bishop of Myra while still a young man. Bishop Nicholas became known throughout the land for his generosity to those in need, his love for children, and his concern for sailors and ships.
Under the Roman Emperor Diocletian, who ruthlessly persecuted Christians, Bishop Nicholas suffered for his faith, was exiled and imprisoned.
Through the centuries many stories and legends have been told of St. Nicholas' life and deeds. These accounts help us understand his extraordinary character and why he is so beloved and revered as protector and helper of those in need.
Through the centuries St. Nicholas has continued to be venerated by Catholics and Orthodox and honored by Protestants. By his example of generosity to those in need, especially children, St. Nicholas continues to be a model for the compassionate life.
Basil the Great or St. Basil (330-379)
Born from Holy parents 330 in Neocaesarea Pontus. The father of St. Basil was already a professor of rhetoric profession in Neokesaria and his mother St. Emmelia descendant family Roman officials (her father had died as a Christian martyr).
For Orthodox Christians Santa Claus is St. Basil the Great, who lived in Cappadocia who devoted almost his entire life to helping his fellow man and considered in world history as the initiator and first author of organized philanthropy.
Work life and important milestone in the path, the foundation and operation of a social charity system, poor houses. There injects whole pastoral sensitivity, making care center model and care of socially weaker people. Essentially Basileias was a model house for the care of strangers, the medical care of the sick and poor training of unskilled. Becomes the matrix of similar bodies set up in other dioceses and was the constant reminder to the rich the privilege to hold their wealth in a truly Christian way.
