This is my entry for the contest Give the Gift.The gift I would give is for my little - well, just in age, the guy is quite big- Brother who is going through a difficult time. My gift for him is that I will always be by his side, even when he doesn't want me to be, because I deeply love him and I swear I will always protect him and support him no matter what.
I also want him to know that when I'm hard on him is just because I care a lot and I worry about the decisions he is making or his behavior toward our parents, but that don't change the love I have for him.
That is. My gift his unconditionally love and support.

Description:
the drawing is representing my brother having a bad time and me consoling him. The wings are the representation of me "passing" some light to him to lift his spirit and give him the strength to be able to fly and get over the dark time of his life. We have one wing for each because I think that we need the help of the people we love to fly.
I put a lot of effort and love in this drawing because the theme is really important for me, so I hope you will appreciate it.

I really really love the idea, the pose, the expressions, the way they're holding hands.. It gives certain feelings.
The anatomy is perfect, the shading is also good! I think you can improve more on the contrast, but this is already very good
Oh, and I love the way you draw the hair, so natural!! and the folds make this piece even nicer
I also love that u put the wings (and the meaning behind it is... waaahhh 
However, I think the background can be more eye-catching. The main object of the piece already produces intense atmosphere, but I think the background can give more warmth to the piece. This is already good, but the absence of "floor" are kinda odd. Well but it's just preference I guess. How about putting "bokeh-light" like this --> pursuitofillumination.files.wo…
or this
to produce a simple background that intensifies the atmosphere?
Oh, and I also find it quite odd that the guy's left foot seems disappearing to the darkness. I don't know if it's just me but I can't shake the feelings that there should be a more visible foot there.

I'm glad it gives you feelings...that's the ultimate purpose of this drawing and knowing it worked is super satisfactory!
As for the background.. yeah, I know... I hate backgrounds an I suck at them.. I will try the bokeh-light next time or I will try to put more attention!!
As for the left foot... I don't know... on my pc I see it but on my phone it become invisible.. I guess it is something due to luminosity and contrast.. who knows!

the effort and meaning and thought you've put into this is truly astounding. the shading on the skin is lovely, and you've done a wonderful job of bringing out the complexities in the skin array. in addition, the yellow shirt folds/creases are on spot - the contrast is extremely noticeable.
one should note that the guy's torso is incorrectly proportioned, as his anatomically left side of the body barely has any shoulder to speak of compared to his right side. the girl's face/hair seem oddly disjoint, and while the contrasts and features on the face are amazing, it seems as if her hair line stars near the top of her head instead of starting from her forehead.
in addition, you've located your light source, but it doesn't seem to be present in all aspects of the subjects; while the girl's face is lit up, her hair, part of her arm, and clothes show no signs of any light source. the same goes for part of guy's clothes - colour theory wise, it isn't matching up with the lighting that is on the girl.
but other than that, lovely work! keep on drawing and i hope your brother manages to figure out a way from whatever he's dealing with.

About your comment... I'm really grateful for the time you took to look at my drawing and write a very detailed and professional review. It mean a lot to me as it is the proof my drawing bring you some feelings and that's what I wanted to accomplish.
