This is Artemis, my newest character for [link]

Alrighty! I've decided that, while still completing my Art Trades, I'll start posting a few of my OC's up on devart. I won't post them all, granted, as I have a surprising amount, however I'll try to get as many as I can.

This here is my newest 9 OC, Artemis...

-------------------------------

Name: Artemis

Number: 186

Number Placement: Engraved on his framework, will not concede to being reffered to by his number.

Age: --

Personality: Artemis has a grace to him, refinement in his language, wit to his stance. His entire build has an unpecable finishing, mostly due to his constant perfectionism. A man of details, he's unbelievably polite and charming. However, at no moment should he be trusted.
Beneath the facette of a cultured victorian gentleman, he hides the makings of an "artistic criminal". Fascinated by the tales of Sherlock Holmes and other such mystery/horror novels, he's only disappointed by the constant failures of the great thieves and murderers from then. His ultimate goal is to "correct the clichΓ© mistakes of the great novelists" and "make amends by becoming the most intrepid of villains"
Artemis has a profound disgust for the world in which he lives; devoid of any proper life and color. He will not feign his dislike for the human kind either, often blaming them for the morbid situation of the planet and, occasionally, holding them responsable for his "uncorrigeable flaw".
He is constantly found in the company of Wendi ( [link] ). Often walking with his arm offered to the delicate ragdoll, he's terribly enamoured with the innocent and pure stitchpunk despite often ordering her about. When endangered, he will not fight. In fact, he barely moves from his place for he has the certainty that his beloved Wendi will protect him. In the rare occasions in which she is defeated, Artemis will step into the fray and attempt to fend off whoever harms his dear servant.
In his mind, he and Wendi are as if engaged.

Trivia: Artemis owns a small pocket watch shaped like a gear. It occasionally gives off obnoxiously loud ticks, sometimes these are triggered by Artemis's rare instants of anger. In order to silence it, he simply has to set the watch back a few hours.
Artemis's cane is in fact a needle. He will pull off the black covering in order to wield it, his stance and technique much similar to fencing.
Other than suspense novels, Artemis has great admiration for music box melodies. He managed to recover one and bring it to his home. Often times he will wind it in order to dance about with Wendi or simply in order to relax.
Artemis lives within an aged and mostly emptied out residence, in one of the deeper bedrooms, he covered the floors in red velvet. He placed a pin cushion within the room so to serve as a bed for both himself and Wendi.
[SPOILER ALERT] Artemis has a bomb infused within himself. His pocket watch is his ticker, and the louder it ticks, the closer he is to exploding. Only on the most desperate occasions will he reveal this detail, unbuttoning his vest in order to expose the detonation device. He won't ever activate it on free will, but it certainly serves as a wonderous bluff.

[SPOILER ALERT] History: Artemis was created by Arthur Joneck, a man who loved details as much as he loved the victorian era. From the silver framework to the delicate material of Artemis's skin and outfit, Arthur would spend days at work, correcting each stitch if necessary. Unfortunately, shortly after completion, the doll was confiscated by the government and Arthur was imprisoned.
The doll was tampered with, a number crudely burned onto his metal bones as if he were a discardable cattle head. Instead of redoing his delicate exterior, scientists decided to use it for their advantage and proceeded to install a bomb within him, fashioning the ticker as a gear shaped pocket watch just large enough for Artemis to hold.
The original Maker, Arthur, was then forced to give his soul to he doll. The doll gave no signs of life.
A week later, the government facilities were destroyed by the machines. Miraculously, Artemis was undamaged and woke a few days from then.
Unaware of the love and devotion Arthur had passed on to him through every mold of metal and fine sewing, Artemis blamed any and all humans for limiting his time span to a ticker clock. He spent days wandering about on his own before meeting Wendi.
From then on, his life was to be built as he pleased...
