Wondering why someone of French descent has an Irish name? Easy answer: my mother loved Sinead O’Connor. When I heard of her recent passing, my first thought was, I bet Mamma met her at the gate! And I smiled through happy tears at the thought. Mamma passed many years ago…I can’t say, I don’t count them.

Yes, I miss Mamma. Maybe because I had less years of my life with her than my sisters. Plus my daughter hardly remembers her as she was a small child at the time.

But that’s all past and you all didn’t come here to listen to me grieve a bit of my mother. The smaller dining room is right here; we use it when the company is small and Lily says dinner is ready. After a well-rested night, we will check out the gardens around the estate, IF, it doesn’t rain.

Sit and eat! I’ll be along in just a bit.
