So mesmerised was I by the majestic scenery and the dragons flying into the sunrise (there is, I feel, a definite atmosphere of elated daybreak here) that it took me a moment to notice the whale -- at which point my breath literally caught, and I can fairly say you're one of the very few artists on DA who produce this effect on me. Perfectly nailed atmosphere, masterful composition, immersive vista full of delightful details (the birds ! the ripples on the water !)... what more could one wish ?

This is beautiful. It really invokes a sense of adventure, especially considering how tiny the flagship is compared to the landscape and fauna.

What I love about fantasy is a sense of wonder and otherworldliness. Well, this definitely qualifies. It took me a couple of views to see the whale, but when I did, it blew me away. I absolutely love this.
The lighthouse was initially a bit confusing, but then I realized that of course it's for dragons to show them where to perch for a rest

I like this picture a lot because it shows us the world as the 16th century explorers must have seen it... the things that we now find natural must have been incredibly exotic to them, who had never seen djungles or Indians or their cities before, just like we've never seen dragons and such "supranatural" things. What Columbus etc. found in the new world must have felt just as supranatural to them as dragons do to us, so in that sense this is a better depiction of the age of exploratiom than any one in the history books. Indeed than any picture of historic exploration, be it the Europeans in the Caribbean, the Vikings in Greenland or the Hellenists in India or anything else. Mind boggling! Thanks for sharing

It always amaze me how you work with colours and spots (of coulours) in a way that tells you the forms even without lines. Very beautiful and refreshing piece.

Your picture is incredibly detailed. No disused space left. Even off the first plan, everywhere is something to hang an eye on: whale beneath the surface, the sun and it's reflections on the water, the castle with the lighthause on the scale, birds and even grass and flowers. This is just incredible.
I also love the pastel, bright colours and the specific, both happy and gentle atmosphere of the picture. Reminds me Disney stories a little bit xD.
