Description For sale on Etsy
286 pages, counted front and back, of 89 gsm archival acid-free parchment shade paper hand sewn onto two large cords. Acrylic painted canvas stretched over heavy bookboard with a closing flap and cords made with my lucet. (Tutorial of cord making ). Book measures 15x22 cm or 5.75 x 8.75 and weighs over a pound. Two bookmarks of braided natural shade hemp.

I named it Moon Kept because of the tie. It can be tied in a pretty much unlimited number of ways. I personally keep a journal with a clasp like this, and I tie it all sorts of different ways, for a number of reasons, but primarily because if anyone were to open my book there would be no way they could tie it back in the same elaborate way that I had it. Therefore I always know if someone has been peaking. In this moon journal, your secrets are tied away.

Beautifully done. Β I love how you listed the specs, and the fact that you even made the cords. Β The design is simple enough to accentuate and not overpower, even though it has all the details of the knots. Β Just overall... makes me happy to look at, haha. Β Keep up the good work!

You are quite welcome.Β

Thanks! Β That's right, though I originally just took it to mean horse (I was a kid). Β Most people just think of Link's horse.

St.Augustine is such a great city. I used to go there all the time when I lived in Orlando. I loved going to the castle and the great dinner theatre there.

Wow!! I think this one is one of my favourites works from you!! I love it!! How did you make the cloth (it's cloth, right?) to make this forms in the spine? It's amazing!

I'm posting this one on Tumblr, I'm sure my followers would love to see it!!!!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AnnEnchanted In reply to GatzBcn [2013-05-16 18:13:24 +0000 UTC]

Cloth- painted canvas. The priming and painting makes it stiffer to work with, meaning it keeps shapes better. Then I lay it across the spine and start shaping it over the cords I sewed the signatures to. Best tool I've found to get it to rest in there is my own two thumbs. Then I glue it so it'll stay where I tell it to.
Thanks for the repost. You're awesome.
