Rankin, the worst asshole on the face of this Earth, and yet I can't help but love him. He's just so brilliant in ToS, there's nothing to be done but grudgingly look past his ultimate dickishness in book 1.
also i need 2 learn how to draw hands, there's literally no excuse at this point

He is much better down in Aussie. I didn't think the hands are that bad, they are good enough to where they don't stand out.

well i wouldn't say misunderstood, since how he acted with Levitas was sincerely horrible, but he seems to have changed a lil :V I mean he does seem to have genuine affection and care for Caesar and his well-being, so he probably thought better of his dragon-neglecting ways, even if just a little. Also he was hilarious in ToS, so I can't even be mad tbh.

We should be honest to him. He dislikes aviation and dragons but was pushed to it by his father. Rankin was assumed to be the captain of Celeritas but that evil dragon rejected Rankin and gave him a serious psychological trauma. We should accept that at nineteen century there was nothing wrong in bad threatening with dragons, slaves and land serfs.

Well the uniform and name of the character are quite specific so there could be no doubt of it being Temeraire fanart xD and yeah, the fandom is abysmally tiny! I'm doing my bets to breathe life into it by drawing tons of fanart and talking about it on my blog constantly, but it doesn't seem to be catching on :< I mean, I've got a ton of people interested and saying they will try it out, but not much of a visible result yet |D

yeeess, that's what grabs me the most as well (well, after the lovely characters and adorable interactions between them :'D ), the combination of ships and dragons and fancy regency fashion is just too perfect!
