I'm against gay ships because the characters themselves are not gay (to my knowledge) and it's so widespread.
Actually, I'm not sure if this one is, but the Harry Potter one is probably the weirder one, since him and Draco are enemies.
I think I'm digging myself into a deeper hole.

Yeah, but gay people don't really have many gay characters they can ship, do they??? There are VERY few gay characters in popular media, so there's no one for us to ship, so no wonder we take the "straight" characters and put them in gay ships. I put straight in quotation marks because, as in this example, neither Hux or Kylo have had their sexuality defined - they could both very well be gay, for all we know. Same with Harry and Draco - they may have been shown to have straight relationships, but even in such a case they could easily be bisexual.

Anyway it's harmless, and being so against it is silly. People are just having fun and creating content that they themselves find enjoyable, because mainstream media so rarely caters to their tastes, so they have no choice but to make their own. Let people have their fun.
