I chose Farkas solely on the basis that he's all gruff and beardy like my beloved other half. He's a bit of a softy isn't he? I do love it when he calls me 'dear.'...
I may have also been sending subtle hints to my beloved by marrying Farkas. Hehe.

Two of my characters have married companions. My first character Maeve (Maeve Axe-flury) went for Farkas as well. He's just such a lovable lunk she couldn't resist. If you're playing on the PC, you can pop the console and use the 'set essential' command so you don't have to worry about him getting munched on by a dragon or nibbled on by any other assorted things that find people tasty.
