Warning: Kise might be a bit OOC depending on how you look at it, however this takes place when he is sexier older and more mature.

Kind of a part of the 'Pregnancy and cravings' series, but can be read as an alone fic. Fluff, because why not, and Kise because I'm really obsessed with him.

It really, really, really took a lot for Kise Ryōta to be angry; a lot.

In fact, if you were asked, you were sure you could count with the fingers of your right hand the times you had seen him really angry during the last years.

Okay, yeah – you had to admit that he was pretty easy to infuriate, and that often ended up with him being childishly pouty, crying crocodile tears and mumbling something about the lines of ‘so mean!’ and ‘so cruel!’ and sentences of the sort, but you had only seen him angry a couple times.

But when he was angry… dear God, you didn’t want to find yourself alone with an angry Kise Ryōta. The blond could look as intimidating as the commander of the Rainbow Squad Akashi Seijūrō himself; his high pitched voice would drop, his normally sparkling golden irises would darken and he had the tendency to ball his fists so hard that his knuckles turned white in a matter of seconds.

Then again, that sight was one you had not seen often. Kise Ryōta‘s personality by default was the outgoing, extroverted and happy-go-lucky one. In reality you admired how much he could take. The blond would even receive beatings from his Senpais and friends, yet never retaliated with violence. The only response that ever got from him was a pout in his handsome features and his scandalous voice complaining.

And that was why, when you realized that your now-husband was standing some feet away from you looking totally livid, you took a couple steps back.

He practically emanated a murderous aura and you unconsciously gulped. Was he really that mad at you because you hadn’t stayed home as he had begged asked?

He approached menacingly and you lowered your gaze and closed your eyes, not really knowing what to expect from your angry partner.

After a couple of agonizingly long seconds and nothing happening, you slowly opened your eyes and blinked confusedly. He was behind you, standing protectively in front of you and a group of teenagers that looked ready to fly the scene.

‘Ah, so that was it…’

You tilted your head to the side, looking around Kise’s figure to take a look at the kids. You vaguely remember seeing them once you arrived at the mall, but you had really paid no mind to them. Were they following you or something? Well, they were only boys high in hormones, so you didn’t mind that much, especially because it was sort of obvious that you were taken.

You knew none of them would dare make an advance on you. Heck, you weren’t even sure if they were following you because they thought you were attractive, in all honesty you really didn’t think that was the case. Why would they find attractive a pregnant woman? Anyways, you sighed and softly patted the blond’s bicep, smiling up at him when he shifted his gaze on you. His stance visibly relaxed, but his eyes glinted dangerously again as he returned his glare at the four guys.

“If you even so much as think about looking at my wife like that again, I will-”

“Ryōta!” You exclaimed, interrupting his threat, though that didn’t matter anyways, because the adolescents had made a run for it as soon as Kise started speaking.

His lips shut in a tight line, and you couldn’t help but smile up at him when he combed his silky locks with his hand in an exasperated manner.

“[Name]cchi…” He grumbled, looking down at you with irritated golden orbs. “Why were you not at home?”

You shrugged at his question, lifting up the bag you had been carrying. He could make out onion & cream Pringles and a jar of… was it chocolate pudding? “I got hungry, and you were taking too long to arrive, so I just…”

He sighed, but nodded nonetheless. You could feel he was not angry anymore. Boy, thanks the heavens because you did not want to deal with that. “Alright. Let’s just get you home, okay? I don’t need anyone else looking at you that way,”

You nodded, arms engulfing his form as you mumbled how happy you were to see him. Any traces of anger washed away as he hugged you as tight as he could while being careful not to hurt you or the baby. “Yep. It’s good to be back, [Name]cchi.”

“Okay! We should watch a movie! How about Frozen?!” You held his hand as soon as he offered and handed him the bag at his request, starting the walk back home.

Ryōta wore a small grin as he listened to you go on and on about why Frozen was the best movie ever because ‘Sven’ and, ‘Oh-my-God, Olaf, Ryō, Olaf!’.

He squeezed your hand and playfully kissed your forehead, suggesting that you both held a movie marathon because he wanted to see the Lion King and Mulan so bad.

The walk home had been a little edgy because he was constantly looking around; making sure no one spared you a second glance. You were only his to look at; the ring on your left hand and the baby you carried should’ve been more than enough of a warning for other males and/or stupid horny teenagers.

To tell you the truth, he had completely panicked when he had gotten home. He had just returned from his shift; he had to be away for the last three days because he had to fly from Japan to America and the way back, though he always made sure to check on you via messages, skyping you or calling you, he was still a worry wrath.

As soon as he had landed the plane, he had said his goodbye to fellow pilots and to his co-pilots before literally running out of the airport. He wanted to surprise you, because he was to arrive that night, however, he was placed on an earlier flight and was able to return sooner, so when he had opened the door and had sprinted towards your bedroom to not see you there, he had lost it. He had actually called Aomine, Kasamatsu and Kuroko before thinking rationally, and it was thanks to the light-blue haired boy that he could find you.

‘Calm down, Kise-kun. Maybe she just went out to get something to eat.’

He had reasoned with himself and had followed Kurokocchi’s advice, and was totally relieved when he saw your form standing at one of the little convenience stores of the mall. But once you had paid and had exited the establishment, he had seen them.

Stupid punks that looked ready to do anything that resembled a woman.

But his blood had literally boiled when they had landed their eyes on you. You had stopped a couple feet away from where they were standing, rummaging through your purse and looking for something, completely oblivious to the looks you were receiving.

He had read once, in one of the books Midorimacchi had lent him, that pregnancy tended to make women more beautiful. And it wasn’t as if you needed the given beauty of pregnancy; for Kise you were absolutely the most gorgeous and beautiful woman that has ever walked the earth, and that made things only worst.

He had seen males look at you like that; it wasn’t a new thing to him and to remediate the situation he would swoop down, kiss you senseless and smirk when the others realized you were his, however, this time it was different.

He didn’t know if it was the fact that you were alone and defenseless, wearing a beautiful yellow dress because it was comfortable enough, slightly chubby cheeks rosy and soft hair slowly swaying with every movement, or the fact that you were his wife, carrying his child and those… those lowlifes had the guts to look at you like that and ‘Oh, hell no!’.

He had immediately made a bee-line for you. You had spotted him and had closed your eyes, though he would handle you later. For now he was really, really, really tempted to punch someone and the four idiots standing in front of him were the perfect victims. He wasn’t fond of violence, that was Aominecchi’s thing, but he wasn’t about to let those punks get away with it either.

Thanks God his look had scared them away, because as much as he wanted them to taste his fist, he didn’t want to cause a scene. It all worked out in the end and he was just so, so, so happy you were alright. He even caught a glint of amusement dancing on your [e/c] orbs.

“What are you thinking of?” You prodded, playfully poking his cheek.

“You~” He chided, strong arms carefully wrapping around your form. The two of you had settled down on the couch, ready for the movie marathon.

You giggled, cuddling up to him and snuggling on his embrace. “You’re so warm, it’s so unfair!”

“I’m not warm, I’m hot!”

You rolled your eyes, but opted for agreeing with him. “Whatever you say, hubby.”

“[Name]cchi,” He called, nuzzling your neck.

“Hmmm?”

“I love you!”

“I love you too, Ryō!”
