Description Incarnation
( 22x 28 )
Acrylic, aluminum, feather, bone, paper, and photography
on board.
Literally meaning “taking on flesh”, incarnation for me represents the divine potential carried within humanity - the everyday holding inside of it the capacity for the sacred. Using the idea of the Medicine Bag, and incorporating diverse media such as feathers, bones, and a photograph of a sacred icon, this representational piece is meant to be a meditation on what is holy and what is mundane....And, is there actually a distinction between the two?
