WOO!, Finally finished this thing. I showed you a rough sketch way back in fall of 2005, here is the [link] and I must admit I am quite glad at how it finally turned out.

Some of you I know are really looking forward to my Invader Zim stuff again, too. I stopped drawing it mainly cause I wanted to try newer things, and 2cd I kept getting (and I still get) stupid fangirls asking me to draw their fancharecter with Dib or Zim, which means I have to make them extremely out of character (I really hate doing that on perpose). Much like the whole JV fandom, there are people who like the show and preteens who like the show. Demi Goths and people who think they have misserable lives and don't really see that JV is just making fun of you. Every fandom has these types of fans who take everything litereally and don't see all the threads that make up the cartoon/comic/video game. So just to spite you I just did not do any Zim for a long while. In all truths though I just ran out of ideas, and where as Zim is a bit of a "downer" cartoon, I needed something a little more up beat and giddy. I may be pessimistic but simple things ammuse me. Plus I needed to get away from making all my original cartoons like Invader Zim or JtHM, it was a good start for highschool, but I needed to open my mind wider.

There was going to be flames in the BG but I couldn't draw good enough flames and the I realized that the ones I had cluddered up the piece. I was really worried about the lighting and that I wouldn't get it as dramatic as I had in my mind. The text came out pretty good too, I loved playing with the layer settings and the outer glow. All the elements I had intended in the picture did not end up in it cause, the file was gettign to big and slowing down the computer. I wanted to do more to the planet, but when I tried it messed up the border around the text, which I think is cool. It may be too bright of a picture but I've been staring at this screen for several hours now, so everything is bright to me and my eyes hurt. Zim's eyes have pupils but I like ot think of his eyes like a praying mantis' eyes, they're looking at you no matter where you are standing.

Hope you like it. Photoshop CS, probally 5 hours, cuase it could have been 2 to 3 hours tonight and at least an hour for base colors 3 months ago. Maybe an hour for lineart drawing and cleanup.
