I worked with a client a while back on this fun little commission, where he asked me to paint three different scenes on the front and insides of a greeting card that will be given to his girlfriend for their anniversary, documenting places that are significant for them around Vancouver. I was lucky to have some blank watercolor paper greeting cards ready too!

I usually tape down my paper when painting but since I was working on both sides of the paper alternatively I didn't want to do that, so I had to deal with warping. Adapting some techniques I found on Youtube, I figured out that if you wait until the paint is damp (not glossy wet), then lay it flat under some heavy weights, the paper dries perfectly flat and does not warp. Downside of course is that it lengthens the drying process...
