This time I used Future Finish Floor polish. But most of the times I just use Gloss acrylic finish like Applebarrel or Americana colors.

Is it spray-on or paint-on?

And it won't ruin the paint below, huh? I use Mr. Color which is a lacquer What do you use? Sorry if these bug you

Don't worry, you are not bugging me

the Future Floor finish is acrylic based, but I use it on enamel and lacquer too. I just use a small brush to deposit the liquid I put about 2-3 layers of it (let it dry between the coats).
I use Future a lot in my modeling. It creates a really nice glossy finish. Just word of advise. If you are going to apply masking tape over it, wait at least 24 hours for it do dry. Otherwise it will lose some of it shines.
