So perhaps those tears did trail upon his fur, falling from his eyes as he stared back at the papers that fluttered through the air. But those tears, they came not from the fallen ancient scripture, for such could be picked up in moments. No, within that moment, with nobody to watch his fumble or to offer a helping hand in regathering them, he realized that he was truly alone. Always has been, and always will be.

I haven't done much drawing as of late: with the work I've been putting into the latest chapters of Eden of the Soul, a one-shot that's comparing quite amicably in length which is still being written, and my motivation to mod for Fallout 4 having come back, I haven't had the time. So, to offer, I provide a Ralsei, because he's a nice one too draw. Little angsty, but I promise you, things will get better for the young prince (we just have to reach the lows to climb back up the highs).

I've mentioned it mainly in Chapter Six, but Ralsei's isolation to Castle Town was not of personal choice; within the cannon of Eden of the Soul, he could not leave the invisible barriers that hid the kingdom and the Badlands from the rest of the Dark World. Indeed, this means he's been alone for as long as his memory serves him (which, he's noted, is an uncomfortably small amount of time). Some days, when the voice he sings with doesn't reach quite as far, and the words he speak echo off the empty walls a little too loud, it truly sets in how alone he really is.
