“Mmmm…”

If felt like the quiet warmth could last forever. A long yawn escaped her as opened one blurry eye. She pushed her plush blankets away, and slipped her feet into some smiling cloud slippers. Her toes wiggled against the soft material as she balanced her way toward the window.

A blinding world of light shouted at her, causing her to wince.

“Whoa…… huh?” She looked out at the world outside her window, covered in thick, white snow. “Woooow!” The woman balled her hands into fists and squealed. Within seconds, she bolted for her closet, grabbing a heavy coat, and a scarf.

She hopped down the stairs on one leg, while wrestling a boot onto the other. Her teeth gripped the gloves, as a little white ball on the end of her bounced.

As she made her way through her kitchen, she passed her friend.

“Can’t wait, can you?”

“Nope!” She swung her scarf around her neck and hopped for the door, shoving her other foot into the matching boot.

“Do you want some breakfast? I just made-” The door opened and shut. “...French toast…”

The snow crunched under her hops. She dove, gasping as the cold flew through her pajama bottoms to her knees. Her gloved hands began digging, collecting, and rolling the snow.

The pristine sphere waited for the second as she worked her way through the front yard. It wasn’t long before her knees felt numb. However, her pace didn’t yield. She grit her teeth, wobbled and strained, but placed the center snow ball on top of the first.

With the sunrise long finished, she gave her character a head. Her gloves patted the seams before she stood back and beamed. With two sticks pilfered from the bushes, and a few strategically placed rocks, her snowman waved at the world..

A friendly arm wrapped around her shoulder and pulled her close.

“Looks great, but he needs one of these!” Her friend flipped a top hat, and placed it on the snowman’s head.

They shared a hug and a giggle. And soon after, a hot chocolate.
