Number one is, once more, a sample of my closed species called a Muertos. Since the last adopt, I've come up with some information It's not all perfect but hey!

Basic Information
A Muerto is born on his or her death by when a Muerto of High Purity places the changing kiss. Basically, what happens with the kiss is that it transfers the older's Muerto's life into the younger one. However, once kissed, these beings are, in a sense, revived. However, they can travel between the human world as a human (their first form) or as a Muerto (their second form) depending on their job for the day or week.

About Their Horns

Female: Female horns are typically smaller, and not quite as exquisite as the males. They stay pretty close to the head, and typically have less shading than the male because of it. Because of this shortened horn length, it is usually harder for a female to reach her Ultimate Purity--in which all of her horns are white. Once all of their horns are white, they can give the Muerto kiss (However, this is very rare for a female because they have such devotion to their mate that they typically perish before reaching it to that point)

Male: Male horns tend to be longer, and closer in shape to that of the Anteplope. They commonly have ridges, and more shade variation than the female. Their horns also mean they live a longer life because of the shade variation, however, it's also a lot easier for them to meet the white horn requirement, so most of the Muerto's are born of a male instead of a female. They also shed their horns once ever two hundred years, which typically ends with the male having a bit more white in his horns with each shed.

About Their Skin Tone Changes
Their skin tone relates directly to just how pure they were before they died. The darker the grey, or the whiter the white, the more pure, or 'tainted' they are. For Example, this one here is darker than the first Muerto, meaning when she died, she wasn't quite as sweet as she looks now. However, their skin can also change in correlation to the sins they commit as Muertos (i.e: Pride, lust, gluttony....etc.) Lucky for them though, it takes quite a bit of a sin for their skin to be directly effected. It is also VERY rare that a Muerto has pure white skin, because most everyone commits SOME sort of sin.

The Bright Markings
The bright markings on their skin correlate directly to the skils that they learn. I'm working on a dictionary for them, and will get it up as soon as possible. The only marking they all share, that has the same function is the upside down heart with the cross in the center. That is their literal key into their Under World community. It transfers them from the living into the bright and colorful world of the dead.

What is Their Job?
Their original creation by Death was to help him take care of the lost souls on Earth, however, as the population began to boom, and the twenty first century loomed over him, he realized that there were more and more lost souls. So he gave his first kiss of death to one Richard L. Rodriguez in 1945. The Muerto species have just taken off since then, scrambling across continent after continent to take care of the lost souls that Death names out. In a sense, they're guiders, or reapers. Each faction (guiders or reapers) performs a different function. Again, I will upload more information on this as it comes to light.

So all I ask is that you credit me when you draw the Muerto (or even the Steam punk!) Becuase I love to see what you guys do with them!
