When he was just a little pup, Brandon would know the pros and cons of daily farm life. Yet, once he got used to it, working on his Poppa's (He called him that when he was little, like Arlo from the Good Dinosaur) horse farm, there wasn't anything else he struggled with... except for the part how he wasn't able to attend normal school in Dog Town, due to a lack of money. Instead he was homeschooled by his parents, mostly his Momma. He learned how to read, write, learn the history of most things and how the West would be won, along with a few other points. But... Math wasn't his favorite subject, while he took a liking to Earth Science, which sometimes involved animals. He loved all of the horses on the farm, and sometimes he'd get to ride one of them in their stalls, or while his Poppa was working with a herd. When he was 10 years old, Brandon would visit Dog Town for the rodeo arena, sincerely his family had some money to pay for his rodeo classes there. Brandon wanted to be a great rodeo rider like his Pop (He called him that as he got a bit older), but everything changed as one of the non-mutated bulls broke out of the gate, and would chase anybody in a rage. It followed Brandon, as the pup had screamed for his life, running in zigzags to try and avoid the bull before tripping over. It wasn't too long before the rodeo instructor (Who was a mutated horse named Mack. I'll introduce him later in this AU) had caught the bull by the horns. Brandon cowered in fear, curled up like he did when he saw bulls up close a few years back. Some of the rodeo students made fun of him, except for... oh well, a collie girl would see the poor pup whimper, but she didn't want to let anyone else bully her, so she turned to leave... not in a bad way. As his parents picked up Brandon, they tried to help their son by teaching a lesson about fear and overcoming it. Brandon would still keep his fear of bulls intact until he was older.
Now all grown up, Brandon would later meet Harmony Hawktail, and would hear about the famous Cowboys of Moo Mesa from Cow Town. Sure, there were some bull villains over there, but in due time... Brandon would follow his father's wishes as he would soon face his fears head on... with outlaws.
