Earlier this year (I don't remember when anymore) I said I'd like to get back to making more detailed, time-consuming pieces again. It took me a little while since I had a lot of art and exploration I felt I needed to get out of my system, but I think I'm starting to feel ready to balance it out again. This piece took a little while, but it didn't feel like I had to force myself to work on it and to finish it. It was a very pleasant process

This piece was heavily influenced by some pinterest images I found (linked below), and also by the God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn art books I have. I tried to use a more desaturated colour palette like some of the GoW art had, with splashes of bright colour here and there. I also love the gritty, dynamic art of HZD, so I tried to give myself more freedom to be looser and rougher with my work to get some of those effects.

I know I said I'd upload the art auction image I've been promising today, but I'm not quite ready yet. It shouldn't be too long, but I just need a few more days
