For the longest time I wasn't planning on Papyrus actually making it on time to help in this fight, but I realized that if Undyne kept fighting Finnagan she'd just get worked up into an even bigger frenzy. Besides we've more or less seen how that fight goes in the last two encounters. A third repeat of Finnagan dodging around and then getting in a weird sneak attack would just be boring. So Papyrus get's to be a hero.
Besides if Finnagan beat Undyne it would undermine the fact that he's not actually that great at fighting. Anyway as I am a huge Papyrus fan I enjoyed this better.
