I have no idea what kinda flower this exactly is. It looks like a red Lilly, but the flowers bloom for only one or two days and then die. Then another flower will bloom and die, and so on.. The colors are very vibrant but there aren't any insects coming close.I'm not even sure if it's a Lilly but I think it is, therefor the title. Also because I was reading 'A million little pieces' from James Frey and he met Lilly, a very special person. I liked the person, liked the flower.
The DOF is something different then usual. I like it.
No photoshopping, only added a border and copyright.

A rather odd one, an M42 50mm f4 Takumar manual focus lens. Gives only 1:2 magnification but I figured out it will serve as a good starter for me.

I like the DOF as well, it works so well here ... you almost make the flower into something abstract, where there is only a hint at what it really is

Oh, it looks like they're all watching something! and the two together are a couple, while I guess the tall one behind them is a parent chaperon!

I think it's an "amaryllis" (i'm not sure about the writting and it's maybe not the same name in english but...).
Anyway, i like very much the tones, the light and the detail !!

Neh, it's way too small to be an amaryllis, and that doesn't just bloom for one day and then die. It's a one day flower and it really seems to be a Day Lilly

Gorgeous colour and compostion in the shot, and you've managed to get very close. However there is a hint of either; camera shake, lack of focus or both that's softened the anther of the flower.

I need to read that book. I have it, and it is just sitting on my bookshelf. I just never have any patience to read it during the summer. I'm always preoccupying myself with something other than reading. Ha
