[i]The HPR-1728 "Planet Eater" might not be the most modern mining ship, but sure it's one of the most reliable ones. Equipped with two bucket excavators and small fleet of transport and support vehicles it can take a good bite at almost any worthy planet.

Besides metal ores of any kind, the factory equipment in the back of the ship can also process base minerals for ceramics, glasses as well as rare earths and extract the occasional crystal or gem from the mined rock.

Two triple fusion cannon turrets are good to scare away the occasional space bandit, but the HPR-1728 is too big, slow and weakly armored overall, so if they are send into dangerous territory, they need to be escorted by more capable fighting ships.[/i]
