Saw it yesterday.Β I'd like to say they kept the core of his character intact.Β As for the rest, well... they were pretty damn thorough but... yeah, it's Ultron.Β He always survives.

I'm not familiar with James Spader's other works, but this Ultron definitely seemed like a dark Tony Stark in a lot of ways.Β Some of his Starks humor, mannerismsΒ and definitely his love of theatrics bleed over.
If you're hoping for the coldly logical 'Tom Kane' Ultron from EMH and Next Avengers, sadly no such luck.Β I don't know comics, I don't read 'em myself.

I honestly can't say, in part because I'm so used to J.A.R.V.I.S. being in Tony's suit its odd to hear a different voice chatting with Iron Man... yet I can't say it was bad.Β Overall, just don't have enough exposure to properly judge F.R.I.D.A.Y.Β Although, it could have been worse.Β A freeze-frame of the movie that I missed the first time through revealed one of the other alternate interfaces Tony could have used was "J.O.C.A.S.T.A."Β As if they didn't have enough problems to worry about.
