Kyle Katarn is awesome no matter what. Since he's basically the Jedi version of Chuck Norris.

Oh man I loved this guy. He was awesome (even with all the shitty CGI his live-action cutscenes contained).

He's technically still canon because the Moldy Crow is in the most recent illustrated ship encyclopedias, and he and Jan are mentioned by name. Unfortunately, without the Death Star plans to steal so that he can prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that he's no longer with the Empire, there's no way to do an origin story for him. I doubt that they're ever going to feature him.

Great piece man! I really like how you handled the lightsaber in the color scheme (we know it's green, but it's not like....GREEN). I was never really too invested in the EU to begin with, so maybe that's why I'm not terribly sad about them de-canon-izing(?) it. I guess I always sort of saw those stories and characters as more of a "MAYBE this happened after the movies" type of deal. But I digress haha. Keep up the great work!

Totally, I more worried about losing characters like Mara Jade than any particular story. I'm hanging off the edge of my chair for any tidbit of information about episode VII's story.
Also as a side note, that's Β Yun's yellow lightsaber. Kyle uses it to fight Sariss in the Valley of the Jedi at the end of Dark Forces 2, and I THINK keeps it for at least a little while. It's been a looooooong time since I've played either of them.

Haha yeah. Ever since I ended up totally spoiling The Dark Knight Rises for myself, I've vowed to do my best not to seek out info on movies I'm excited about haha. The casting news wasn't anything too revealing so I'll allow myself that. But needless to say, I'm super pumped for new Star Wars! People can say what they want about the merchandising machine, but I think it's great that Star Wars continues to give kids of each new generation something to be inspired and entertained by.
So here's my question. I've always wondered if all the lightsaber color varieties were really considered canon. I mean, I guess they must be. But I always found it odd that in Episodes II and III, with as many Jedi as there are in some scenes, the only one who doesn't have a blue, green, or red one is Mace Windu. I remember being sort of shocked as a kid at the total lack of lightsaber variety in the Battle of Geonosis. But I digress...
Man now I'm feeling in the mood to pick up Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy again.....

Lightsabers get especially strange with Dark Forces. The "Dark Jedi" (this is before the sith were really fleshed out by the prequels) have lightsabers of all colors, which is it's own weirdness. I think that's part of the thing that makes rebooting old canons useful, like what DC and Marvel do every few years.

Yeah for sure. It is weird to think about a time before we even knew much of anything about the Sith order haha.

Why? Β It's Β not like he won't be in any more Star Wars stories. Β Heck, maybe he'll be in the movies
