Description
Ok, we're looking into another mech in the Chrome War. This mech is called the Barnacle Tunneler, a small class mech that is mostly stationed in underwater areas. The Viridescent faction utilizes these things on a frequent basis, mostly just another way to break into the enemy faction's base from beneath them. Other factions make these mechs as well, however they're not used as much as the Viridescent's Barnacle Tunneler.
Now then, Barnacle Tunnelers are used for scouting, recon or simply to just make smooth long tunnels underwater. They're built with an atomic manipulation device to either completely destroy the stone their fan consumes or the convert it into water so that it can move freely through the tunnel. Outside of creating underwater tunnels, Barnacle Tunnelers will also stick themselves onto walls or larger mechs. When up against a mech of larger size, if the Barnacle Tunneler can attach to them without any problems, they'll cause significant damage, depending on the mech it attaches to.
While being attached to mechs, they can also drain them of power and utilize it for themselves. Speaking of power, Barnacle Tunnelers are built with a mini bio reactor inside of them, allowing them to consume organic matter to acquire more power without needing to go back to base as often. Of course, considering that the Viridescent likes to keep the environment intact, they programmed these mechs to only take what they need without causing a massive drop in the ecosystem. So long as it can grow back, it's fine to consume.
As for the mech's statistics, defense wise, they're built with these metal scales that provides a large amount of protection. It will take a massive force to be able to break this armor, but the only draw back is that it's somewhat heavy, causing the mech to move a little slower than normal. But this drawback is countered through the fan propellant, doubling as a rock breaker, this fan will allow the Barnacle Tunneler to move faster, enough to where it can dodge most attacks. These scales can also be used to camouflage the mech, making it look like a regular boulder embedded deep within the sands. The scale's colors changes once the mech is attached to something, turning it into a rocky brown color to match the environment.
Well anyways, I think that just about covers the Barnacle Tunneler. It's a small simple mech that's made for the underwater based mechs. Considering that we don't have much of those, I've come up with some ideas for mechs to be added to the underwater worlds. Now then, I'll wrap this epilogue up quickly. So without further adieu, here's the Barnacle Tunneler, enjoy.
