This is an awesome piece with a ton of interest in image. Given the subject matter, it could come across as chaotic if more individuals were in the shot. But with only a few folks in the foreground; the piece gives off almost a small sense of isolation. we understand the impact of the people due to the signs and other aspects of life in the image. There is something about only seeing a few actual people that makes the image carry a sense of calm.
The colors are a beautifully contrasted with the night and the reflection of light from the moisture on the bricks gives a highlight to the brickwork that would normally be ignored if the image was taken in the daytime.
the perspective of the shot also gives some interest since we are looking down the ally from a standing point of view.
