It's bad idea to stack superman against saitama because, let's face it, both caped heroes are always holding back, thus, we can't depict their fullest potential. Saitama has yet to show planet to star level power while superman has already done that but he still held back.

Agreed. Another sad thing about how underrated Superman is sometimes is that people always say "Oh, he can be taken out by Kryptonite bullet!" or something like this.
I mean, in all the death battles (and I am not talking about the Youtube videos), people just think that Superman can be won against with magic and Kryptonite and they always act like only their side (Goku, Hulk, whatever other character they put against him) holds back the immense power.

Actually, Superman is not the strongest, never was and never will be. See DC Rebirth: Batman- Vol. 3, Issue #5.
In that issue (which is canon), a guy by the name of Henry Clover Jr. or Gotham, literally beat Superman unconscious with just a few punches, ran faster than the Flash and was more agile than Wonder Woman.

Just to mention, we have been discussing this before I read the issue (I am not sure it was even out at that time).
However, Gotham's powers are not constant, if you remember. He can keep the God level powers for hours but not days. Power at the price of his lifespan. So it is up to debate whether or not he is that powerful.

Even if he risks hastening his death, his strength, speed, stamina, reflexes and agility when using his powers still overall, remains higher higher than Superman, Flash and Wonder Woman combined. Gotham's powers are not constant because they adapt to any kind of surrounding they see, as noted by Batman, not because Gotham is limited to using his powers for a few hours or minutes, making Gotham as strong as he needs to be.

I doubt that his powers adapt themselves. I personally think that it s the user's decision that matters how much power exactly to use. He can be as strong as he wants to be, yes, but that doesn't mean that he is able to keep this power level for long. Why do you consider it irrelevant? I don't mean to criticize, but it is no better than assuming the entire issue irrelevant because the entire Justice League was used as the means of showing the power of the foe Batman was facing.

How much time of Henry's life was being shaven off due to his powers was later irrelevant because Gotham simply did not care, at least, in the last moments of his life before his sister killed him. This still does not deny the fact that Gotham was stronger than Superman, faster than Flash and more agile than Wonder Woman when using his powers. And no, Gotham's powers adapting to its surroundings was not the writer's decision. Batman himself said it. That is more than enough.

Are you kidding me? Superman HAS faced challenges before! Superman is constantly struggling to protect the innocent and there are times where he questioned if he's making a difference. He has faced challenges where he's slowly being overpowered by beings equal or superior to him! He's fighting people who use kryptonite or block out the sun to drain his power!
Saitama hasn't faced any challenge yet either! So I'm hoping people who root for Saitama are not being hypocrites when he's also OP and hasn't been challenged while destroying every monster and villain with one punch!

That too. But it varies (not all magic in every franchise is exactly the same). Some barely even hurts him while other types could erase him. It can bypass his bio electric aura but it can't get past his super dense molecular structure.

From what I understand of the mechanic, it depends on the magic. For example: if the magic summons something to hurt him, it's generally only half as effective but still hurts. If it's a magic sword however it cuts him as if he where any other human. Would be the best way to explain it
