test shoot: projector series.

Let me tell you a little bit about this test shoot of mine. I've been fascinated with a lot of textures lately, so I wanted to do a study on patterns, light, and texture on a subject and how it can affect the mood of an entire image. I think it's quite similar to how external wear influences our general mood and expression for a period in time.

For this set, I used images of lights, flowers, cityscapes, and faces through a projector in a dark room, testing patterns and texture on skin to see how it would influence the mood of its "wearer". I decided to shoot this against skin because I thought it would provide a cleaner, more defined canvas to project on. My dear friend =kunebitt was game enough to model for me, so I could visualize how this concept would play out. I think it may be more evident in the other photographs, but I particularly liked the play of highlights in this piece.

It's still an early concept. I might pursue it in the future, but for now I'll be moving this to my test set. I would love to hear your critique if you have the time.
