He is based on Pumpernickel Sourdough but also I used desert style attire to give him a more whimsical feel and also give him the puffy, soft clothes that remind me of fresh, soft baked bread.
This style of clothes also gave me room to work with warm tones and tans with his clothes to bring in more bread colors!
I imagined him while designing - being either a scavenger / treasure hunter or a merchant that traverses desert regions with his little serval familiar.
I didn't draw it, but my idea was that his familiar could be a shifter - both in size but also species - and could easily shift between being a serval, to a domestic cat, to a dragon if he wanted and he was needed.
I gave him a big X scar on his back to look like the X cuts on the top of home-made bread, and his pack contains various bread, a waterskin and a journal to document or draw things from his travels.
He has light freckles to look like fLOUR OR SEED SPOTS too like bread.
ANYWAY, enough rambling.
