Description Our cat Maurice.
This time I tried something completely new. I did a very short sketch and applied the paint very intuitively, without any of the detail, only focusing on the light. The texture is not that bad though but you cannot really see it on this photo. I will try to fix that soon.
I worked a little bit the texture of the cat with a big black marker to give a bit of dynamism. It really looked flat after the paint was applied alone. So I guess we can call that speed painting, it took me about one hour and a half to do the whole stuff.

Love it very much, I can almost feel the fluffy soft texture of Maurices fur

Thanks ! People do not comment too much on this painting. I tried to make it as fast as possible to capture only the essential. Not sure it worked perfectly but that was a try.
Thanks for the comment

Yeah I love cats, they are so beautiful. I know this is art for little girls but anyway I think these fellows really have something. Plus I have two very different cats graphically

Beautiful work. You did a good job with the pose and it really looks like the cat's standing ( for a second I really thought she is ) but you need a bit more detail

I updated the picture.
Do you still think I need more detail with that new version?
I volontearly did not make any detail too see what it gives for the painting. I mean, if there no detail, I have to be very careful with the texture of the washings themselves. It was really cool to paint like that! Usually, I do more military and serious paintings...

It beautiful as always and yes it's better.I love the blue colours in the cat, ( I don't know did you added them now or before ) it gives it contrast which is very important in watercolours.Yes but working without the details is hard work. Most of the time it will become hard to tell apart the parts of the object you are drawing mine sometimes end up as a mess of paint xD but it's relaxing to not stress over the details isn't it? ^^ Anyway you did a good job and trying out something new is always important

Your watercolors are beautiful as always! You did well using the marker, this way the fur and the stripes give well the sense of perspective. lovely cat
