Description
Like all tanks, the MBT Lion had several derivatives. Here we have the repair/recovery CRARRV, a combat engineering variant and a bridge layer.

-The CRARRV is identical with the British one, except the more powerful engine, shared with other Lion.

- The Combat Engineering ''Wild Boar'' variant is armed with an L9 165mm demolition gun and a coaxial 30mm Hellenic Small Arms Industry Y1980/84 cannon. It can tow a trailer equipped with the Giant Viper mine clearence device or other special trailers as well.

The ''Elephant'' Bridge Layer uses a Leguan type two piece sliding bridge instead of the sciccors type bridge of British Challeger. The system was developed by HDV based on the German Biber bridge layer but capable of laying an 26m bridge. Hellenic army received also a number of Chieftain Bridge Layer tanks equipped with 80ft bridge as offsets into the agreement of license manufacture the Challeger I tank. These were modified with sliding system also and they received Perkins/Rolls Royce CV12 engine as soon as possible, ditching the notorious Leyland L60.

Any idea of naming the CRARRV after an animal? I used the name ''Bison'' in my deviation about Lion MBT, but do not like it very much, plus that I have an aircraft named ''Bison'' as well, so I want to avoid confusion.
