Description “We did it! W-We finally did it!” John said, his hands raising to his mouth, as many of the other lab dressed technicians and tech crew did the same. All except one woman, her bright, cherry red lips curling into a smile, as she silently slipped out of the hushed sliding doors.
Her ‘escape’ wouldn’t have been noted by a single soul in any other case, but John could feel something wrong, his excited, sparkling eyes dimming a little as he turned to look over where his wife had stood while the others clapped… Only to see an empty space, devoid of his love.
But not wanting any worry or curiosity to dampen the other crew member’s excitement, he just took a small breath, and kept quiet, as Director Hugh made his way over, patting the young, bashful man on the back.
The sound of clacking heels echoed around the white, ever rounded arch ways of the station’s walls, the smell of pleasantly scented recycled air did nothing more than tickle the soft, yet stern woman’s nose, as she made her way to where the emergency airlock sat.
She took a breath, letting her tense, commanding shoulders fall, as she reached into the dark depths of her pale lab coat, pulling out the glimmering metallic trinket out from the vast space like pocket that once housed it.
“John…” She mouthed, having clicked open the small locket, as she looked at the picture of herself, and the smiling man housed inside. It had been… More years than she could remember since she had touched down, but she remembered that day: their anniversary. Poor John, there was much he didn’t know about his wife, his lover, his life mate, the cool woman frowning a little, pocketing the love filled locked, before she hid it away, this time, slipping the hand warmed metal into her deep cleavage.
Sliding her clearance card through the reader with a precision and surprising grace, the lights started to dim, and the red warning lights started to spin, engulfing the room in read. With one final look back to the hall behind her, she smiled to herself, then finally she made her way into the passage way to space itself.

“H-Honey?” She paused upon hearing his voice, John’s voice, her face equal parts somber and happy at what would soon happen. She didn’t turn around, her hand gently resting on the frame of the entrance way, as she slowly and subtly bowed her head forward.
“What are you doing? Me and everyone else were wondering where you went, and… I didn’t expect to find you here…” His voice was filled with concern, nothing but an innocent worry for the woman he cared for.
No response came from her lips, her skin beginning to glow, lighting up the space around her, John watching in sheer awe, as like an angel from the heavens above, she shined an aura of pure virgin white.
For moment, both John, and those who had come to check on him, felt as if they were blinded, no sound, no sight, only a never ending neutral burned into their vision. But she was not cruel, or seeking their misery in her acts, as with several blinks, the soft darkness that was the station itself and the calm lighting came back.
“W-Where are you…” John could feel tears warming his cheek, as where she had stood, was now nothing but an empty space colder than outside of the station’s protective walls. But the shocked sadness and wonder was quickly replaced with the sounds of surprised shouting and the sheer lack of any understanding.
“John… You… You have to come here… Now!” Despite how accustomed John was to every other crew member’s voice, it seemed distant, alien to him, as he weakly turned around, getting to his knees as he watched everyone rush to the view port in the rec room.
The second he got to where he was ushered, he once more fell to his knees, the sight before him one he knew for years past, and one that was beyond his now truly minute mind. They all simply stared out the observation window, now two massive blue objects taking up the view, not just earth.
In fact, calling earth massive wasn’t even accurate, the planet, home to humanity, was barely larger than the blue, recognizable woman’s soft sole. Not even the once gigantic sun could be stared at with amazement at its size, for she put it, and every other planet mankind knew about to shame.
Her smile was soft, tender, almost motherly, and John knew it as the woman he had loved ever since he had met her. No one said a word, unable to even consider what they should say in relation to what was going on, not that they would need to say anything.
“I’m sorry for keeping myself, my true self from you John…” She began, her voice booming, yet painless to listen to. It was grand, and commanding, but still as gentle as she was known to be, as the echoing, absorbing words left her cosmic lips.
“But please, know my love was true, even if so much of my life was not. Our love, our life together, it was as real to me as it was you, so never, ever doubt that… I thank you.” Her lips curled kindly, her head cocking to the side as she stared down at the tiny station she had once been inside.
For any other occurrence that might have caused the station to shake and move, the crew would have fallen, or at least had to brace themselves for any impact that might come their way. But the second the Lapris grabbed the vessel, they felt nothing outside of a slight pull bringing them up.
“I want to thank you all, for helping me complete what I was sent to your world to do. I can not tell you why, but please know that you have my deepest appreciation. And John, I promise that I will never forget you. Goodbye.” Her words were simple, but still made sense to none of the crew watching and listening to every word.
John simply got up, his eyes blinking slowly, as he walked over to the window, and put his hand on the glass. The Lapis blushed, before she brought her palm to her lips, and blew a kiss to the man she loved, and would always love, even if the pair never saw each other again.
