I wish I could create a new costume and visit the masquerade balls held in Venice, the costumes just blow my mind!

yep,
masks are another favorite of mine. I have a very modest collection of Venitian masks as they tend to be rather expensive. Most of them are made of "papier mache" and are real works of Art...I remember a painting of mine -the idiot me, I sold it without photographing it, of a dead pigeon hovering in an afternoon sky of a Corfu land scape, wearing the golden mask of Toutanhamun...I had the pleasure to see this artifact 4 years ago and I will post some photos of it eventually....
Most people wear masks and it is really funny and frightening to see them wearing their invisible masks off and on... Of course you have to have perfect vision as a good surgeon - ophthalmologist has..
As for Venice had my native Corfu occupated for centuries and almost all the architecture of the old town is venitian... We had not hard feeligs for Venice though.. It was them or the Turks... and they were preferable...
So glad to know you are watching my gallery my Roser
