Would love to see a close-up of the image -- I'm intrigued after reading your description of the media used!

Check this -> [link]
That's the drawing wich shows a lot more detail than the photo of the finished piece.

Like it. You should paint the inside of the doors. Make it a triptych.

Thanks a lot for the idea. But it's already sold and I think the owner likes it just the way it is.

I Do like these frames, though. Thought about trying to make something similar myself. John U Abrahamson is another artist who frames his stuff as though he were Fra Angelico (although his scenes are less than heavenly).

The frame takes this piece into deeper territory. The integration of a relatively fragmented, yet peaceful, or even transcendent subject, with undeniable reference to an iconographic altar invites us to meditate at the shrine of your vision. The fact that you do these behind glass is a whole additional set of layers to consider. And all this blah, blah, aside, it's a beautiful sight.

You're welcome. I find that the words come when I take the time to move beyond what I like and dislike, beyond technique, and into questions about meaning. I ask myself to describe what I see and to entertain the possibilities of what it might mean. I look for themes.
Sometimes I hit upon an insight that is valuable to the artist, but more importantly, looking at my own art in this way helps me to better understand myself and the world that I live in.
Do your paintings "speak" to you? Do you notice a difference between what you intend to say in a piece, and what actually comes out when you reflect upon the messages of your creation?
No need to answer all this, but you took the time to write back so I thought I share a few thoughts.

I appreciate your wonderful words very much. Funny you should mention the communication between the art and the artist. I always say, listen to what it offers. The painting will show you what it wants and needs. You just follow the hints!

The frames for the originals are very important to me and as a piece of the artwork, I always design them myself and often make them too!
