I love the kimono sleeves on this one. Very elegant. This might be my favorite clothing pattern.

I have been debating buying this pattern as it's really pretty. Was it difficult?

I had a little trouble with it. A few corrections to the pattern, but nothing major. Trouble is I don't remember what those corrections were, so I can't advise you.

But as patterns go, it's not so bad. The trouble is in finding a yarn that works. You need sport weight, which is fine if you want it to be pastel, but finding grown-up colors in a nice yarn at an affordable price is a little harder. This wrap cost me around a hundred and fifty dollars to make.

Understandable. I just found a yarn store near me and I'm a bit scared to go in and look at expensive yarn!
I think red heart is making a sport weight cotton. I'll have to check into it. I can't use most wools since I'm allergic and that rules out a lot of great colors. But it also prevents me from spending too much on yarn. lol

Lovely work. I'm jealous as I have little patience over big projects. Though I'm optimistic that one day I'll be able to bring myself to make for myself.

I can never sit down and do a big project all at once. I do a little, then switch over to something else when it starts getting to me. Things get done in time.

I see. I'm still trying to learn how to juggle my projects/work properly. Sometimes, even though I already hit a wall on a particular project, I still can't get it out of my mind even when I'm starting/doing some other project.

Absolutely gorgeous! You did a fantastic job on it, and it looks great on you. I think that's a pattern I might have to buy - I rarely buy patterns with so many free ones online, but this is a beauty. Was it difficult to make? I don't have a lot of experience making clothing items yet...

I kinda recall having to make revisions to the pattern, which took up more time, but wasn't terribly difficult. I think, though, that the revisions were for minor aesthetic purposes, and that the pattern worked perfectly fine as it was.

what kind of yarn did you use?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Anuella In reply to minishadowlove [2008-05-25 04:40:18 +0000 UTC]

Ya know, for the life of me, I can't remember. I remember it was cotton, imported from Japan and cost me eleven dollars a skein, but I can't find it on Google, so...

You can buy the pattern at Annie's Attic [link]

One of my favorite patterns. You just need a large quantity of sport weight yarn.

This is a very beautiful design! I especially like the belted waist, and it looks great on the model. How long did it take you to crochet this?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Anuella In reply to Sher-A [2008-05-25 04:46:31 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! I'm the model.

I think it took me about a week, though in that week I did do things like work and sleep, so that slowed my progress a bit.
