I really love the simplicity of the composition and color scheme, as well as those beams of light radiating from the eyes.

this is super cool!! love that glow coming through the eyes, reminds me of rays of sunlight coming through clouds on an overcast day ^^
also: is this possibly a reference to Alica In Chains' "I've eaten the sun so my tongue has been burned of the taste" lyric? Or just personal symbolisms?
