This is the first time I have done Sailor Moon Fan Art since i first started drawing anime. I grew up watching this little girl called Sailor Moon. She helped me learn, she helped me laugh, but above all she gave me hope that even one little girl could grow up to make a difference.I just hope I give my childhood idol some justice.
This was drawn with prismacolor markers, prismacolor pencils, microns, white paint on bristol board.

I was just going to comment on your page that your artwork reminds me of Sailor Moon and then, the very last picture I see is Sailor Moon herself! I must have some kind of Sailor Moon radar or something lol I loved Sailor Moon! Even when she was down and weak, she managed to pick herself up in the end :] well done!

You're welcome! I know the feeling, something about Sailor Moon is so magical, it draws you in. Seeing this drawing makes me want to re-read the manga XD Maybe you should upload the results? Just for fun? I draw her often too, but I love the original art so much more than anything I ever draw, I never upload it either

Same here :[ Too bad all the new big ones are so darn expensive!! Specially when they're a bigger size, they're even more expensive! And I dont care for just taking a digital picture of my bigger pieces because they never come out as well as they do in real life lol! I'm sure you have that same problem all the time, right?

Oh my God, this is so cute! And beautiful! Wow. The coloring, the expression, the pose...and on bristol board. Wow. I love everything about it. This is one of the best Sailor Moon fanarts that I've seen. Just gorgeous.

i know you specialize in traditional drawing... but do any suggestions or advice on where to start with anime?

find a style you like and then try to copy it. honestly it's the best way to start even if it may seem wrong.. and always start with the nose.
and I like many things besides anime, photography, manips..

well if you like photography, why don't you try it?! it honestly isn't that hard once you get into it. and it doesn't take that much effort compared to other medias xP
