Decided to try out GIMP for the first time in years after making the switch to Sai. I gotta say, I'm pretty impressed by how much this program has improved over the years ;w; There's actually a way to stabilize the lines now, Photoshop doesn't even have one (for free anyway). Had a LITTLE issue with the line dynamics, but aside from that, it was pretty fun to use XD I shaded and added highlights in Sai, but everything else was done in GIMP. Kinda messed up and made all of my color layers merge, likewise with the background. I had no idea that making layer groups in GIMP merged them, thought they were like folders. So some of the line art may be darker than others :'D I didn't edit the lines as much as I would've if I used Sai, and I found tracing the sketch to be quite easy. This drawing was pretty relaxing and fun~ Had trouble coloring since GIMP doesn't have a clipping function like Sai and Photoshop do, but I was able to make something work. I realized after doing the lineart and color that I made Chester's tail thinner than it looks on his ref, but oh well. I didn't use any references on the pose on the anatomy, but I think it looks ok :0 I've been working on owed work as well, but I just wanted to play around in GIMP for a bit. I might even start using it again for some things. Chose Chester for this since I haven't drawn him but only once besides his ref. He deserves more art ;w;
