Description Entry for part two of 's contest.

Jinduo (djinn + duo) normal and ghost (which is distinct from normal/ghost, by the way)
It is based on the Grine:
In Moroccan myth, each time a human is born in our world, a djinn called a Grine is born in another, adjacent world. The actions of the human inevitably influence the actions of the Grine, whereas the actions of the Grine inevitably influence those of the human.
- from wikipedia

So, normally, only one "part" of jinduo is active at a time, but I drew it as having them both active at the same time. After it attacks, the opposite part becomes active and the previously active one curls up into a sleeping/dormant state. So if Jinduo gets paralyzed/infatuated/has something happen that inhibits its attacking, it does not switch to the other entity. The stats are constant for both halves since it is still just one pokemon.

The left one is normal typed and the right is ghost typed (just in case you couldn't tell or needed affirmation). The way they learn attacks would look something like this:

lv 12 : bite/lick
lv 17: glare/glare
lv 23: mega punch/ shadow ball

or something.
the first attack would be available only to the normal part of Jinduo and the second to the ghost. After one part of Jinduo attacks, the corresponding attack on the other part is unable to be used.

So if the normal half has attacks
n1 n2
n3 n4

and the ghost half has
g1 g2
g3 g4

If Jinduo uses n1, on the next turn it becomes ghost type and is unable to use g1.

If Jinduo reaches a level where it learns new moves (n5 and g5) it must replace a set of corresponding attacks (n1, g1 or n3, g3 but not n1, g4 or n3, g2).

That concept would be a pain in the ass to program, but kicks ass and would be neat.

Congrats on getting my vote for Round 2, this idea was quite interesting and the way you designed this Pokemon is amazing. Awesome colouring btw <:

Cool drawing! Made me look up about 'djinn' on Wikipedia and learn more about Islamic folklore! Thanks!

Yay for inspiring recreational learning!
Wikipedia is the only way to go! Unless you are looking for definitions; then you should turn to urban dictionary, obviously.

another way this could work, is if you wanted to do something similar to when nincada evolves (empty space+pokeball=secondary form)

so for this one, if you have an empty space+ pokeball, you can catch the second one without a fight, and at full health.

just a thought/ my opinion. I love the idea, and the art

That's not the situation... he says they switch places while fighting. They count as one pokemon.

I know they do. I'm simply stating that if this were in the game (which i Whole-heartedly think it should) that it would probaly be swapped for that form of availabillity. That, or it would need an abillity that let it do that.

Great job on incorporating such a concept into a fake Pokemon.

And of course the art itself is lovely, as always.
