She's so freakin cute!! I love the position she's in and the effects used for the water! If you don't mind me asking, do you have any tips for drawing the elements?

Part of the story and part of the picture are missing. I can imply a lot from what I see, but at no point am I rewarded with any deeper understanding of what is going on here. It is a nice picture. in a photographic sense, but the sensation of "frozen motion" here is in part what takes away from the story that this picture should tell. The water is in mid-motion, but she (?) is frozen. It is as if she put the magic spell on the water, made it move, and then it bounced back and froze her.
Most pictures where motion is implied have an arc of movement. Take a minute, and look at the water just as a body of mass in motion. You can tell it is heavy, that it has mass and volume, and that it's motion is following a certain path of flow (Like all waves do.) Great.
She is a statue.
You've missed a wonderful chance here to blend movement in her figure with the movement and power of the water. Both should be in motion. Both should be dynamic. I can spend an hour guessing who this might be, and what she is doing, casting spells on water. But there's no hint of anything, anywhere that tells me who she is, and why.
The character shows me enough personality to make me curious, and then I feel slightly frustrated that everything stops so short. Tell me (Show me) more of her and I promise I'll eat it up with gravy and a spoon, but you have to work at it slightly harder than this. Good luck with your application. I am fairly certain that even with what I view as some limitations, the composition on this is better than most of what they see.

Heheh, I could see where some motion blur could be useful here in conjunction with the water. Normally when I draw action I put in LOADS of blur/speedline effects. However, I did this pic as a centerpiece for an application and needed all the details of her costume visible for referential purposes.
